February 26

Hey! league tourney was on 23 and 24.....AND WE GOT FIRST PLACE! AWESOME!! we played the kipnuk falcons for our first game. the subs started the game instead of our usual starters. we played most of the 1st quarter, and some of the starters went in in the 2nd. when we started out, our scores were pretty even. but when the starters went in, our score went up. ahm not sure what the final score was. in that game, we were pretty sloppy: sloppy passes, sloppy layups, sloppy shots....but we still won, which is awesome. for our championship game, we played the kwig eagles. this time, we started our starters because kwig is pretty good. again, ahm not sure what the final score was. i would tell you more about the games, but i don't remember exactly how they went. but whenever this girl, my cousin, would go in to play, people on the bleachers would start talking. she's really good. when she went in, one lady yelled out in yupik, "there she goes!" it was awesome.. whenever she got the ball and drove in, and make a layup, some of the older ladies would laugh, haha, i don't know why. but they liked her. after the awards, we took a picture with one of our girls holding a delta discovery newspaper to send in to bethel. and the kwig got second, quinhagak got 3rd. kwig got the sportsmanship award. 4 players from our team got an all-star award:D which was awesome. haha..sorry, but i think until after the district tournament, my posts will be mostly about basketball.. unless we make it to state:D we're havin a pretty good season, even the we missed games for the first half of the season. haha..
oh, and yesterday, we had a one year feast for my grandma, and a 40 day feast for my neighbor's grandma. i went to go eat at my grams, and wanted to go eat at brittany's but didn't get to. janan and her family came, my cousins, jen, lisa, and peter came from bethel. it was awesome that they got to come.
right now, i gotta get goin. will update if theres anythin goin on here.. and i'm sorry that i still don't have pictures. haha.. LOVE YA!

its monday and it was a GREAT WEEKEND!!! our grls team made it to kasigluk and it was AWESOME! we won all the games that we played, and its possible for our team to get 1st in the district tournament and go to state. we played against nunap, kwig, and quinhagak grls teams. i'm not really sure how many points we won by, but it was fun! kwig last year, we beat them once and never won any games with them the rest of the season..they were really good. its kinda weird how they were playing this weekend. they were really, really good last year. i just don't get it. next weekend, league tourney.. i can't wait till the district tourney.. to see how we do there.. it'll be awesome:D
we came home on saturday and they had a songfest here:D they started on friday and a lot of people from other villages came. that was the best part of the weekend, the songfest:D got to see some friends, hears and sing some good songs and good messages.. it was tons of fun!

Basketball!

Last week, the Tunt Lady Blue Jays went to Quinhagak and finally played our first game of the season! we played 2 games, both games against Quinhagak because we were the only team that made it.. bad weather kept other teams away. Guess what? we won both games! we won our first game by 36 points, and the second by 43 points! it was awesome!!! Today, we are going to Akula (new Kasigluk), and we're hopin to do pretty good there as well.. Next weekend, we're going to have our league tourney in Quinhagak, then the week after, HOME GAMES!! I don't know which villages' teams are coming. after that, we have the DISTRICT TOURNEY!!!! can't wait...
but i gotta go now.... we gotta go to the student meeting, and then planes will be here, hopefully... i will update when we come home from kasig.. about basketball..and other things goin on.. LOVE YA!!!

sorry bout that

hey, haven't posted anything in a long time..yeah, sorry..haha..
school started about a month ago, and basketball season started.....but we haven't even played our first game yet.. which sucks.. every weekend, we were supposed to go somewhere for a game, except one weekend when the games were supposed to be here. i didn't care about the first game, well, because of everything, and both the funerals were supposed to be on the monday after that weekend. the rest of the weekends we didn't play because of bad weather. and now yesterday, we we're supposed to go to quinhagak, it was 250 ft. ceiling in bethel so we couldn't go. this morning, we're waiting for planes incase we could go, and its a little bit better outside so hopefully we'll go. i hope we get to play teams in our league before we go to the district tournament....
oh, and last month, i went to anchorage for a week, 6th to 13th.. it was fun, i had a great time. i got everything i needed to get, got to see everybuddy, it was awesome. haha..especially when i went the platinum jax with racheal, her best friend, and her dance partner. i stayed with racheal until wednesday night, and with stephanie the rest of the week. but a couple days before i came home, my mom told me about this friend of mine..nelly frank.. i guess they were drinking and she was beaten and killed.. i think it was on tuesday night, the 9th. then i went back to bethel on the 13th, i was gon go home the day after, but the weather was bad.. so i was stuck there until tuesday, and they still hadn't brought the body here to tunt. i came home on tuesday, went to school, and not too long after i went to the school, priscilla told me that someone, one of my cousins, told her that brittany's grandma, nelly mcintyre, had passed away that morning (my next door neighbor). pris said that she wasn't sure if it was true, because she didn't trust this person who told her. but later on, my mom told me.. that was a really hard time.. the rest of the school day i just wanted to go see brittany, see how she was. i used to go to her house a lot at nights, and she and her grandma were very close. her grandma raised her ever since she was a baby.
i gotta get goin now tho, teams gon go play ball in the gym while we wait.. I LOVE YOU!
